What do I need to set up a braille transcription service?
Setting up a braille transcription service is not easy. One needs to be knowledgeable about braille and the various rules for transcribing and formatting braille. One should be certified by the Library of Congress (as administered by the NFB) and be able to abide by the Braillist Code of Ethics. One needs the hardware and software to produce braille. One needs to know how to use their system to do this as efficiently as possible. Duxbury Systems hopes that all those who produce braille do so with the best tools and with the support of the braille producing organizations, locally and nationally.
