Framingham Folk Dancers
"Dances from Earth"

FFD at a Glance

Come dance with us! The Framingham (International) Folk Dancers is an informal, noncommercial group of people who like to have fun dancing -- and we do! Instruction and requests at all levels. Beginners are very welcome. During the COVID-19 pandemic, dances on Zoom are free. No partner needed. Age is not a factor ‐ we regularly welcome dancers 5, 95, and all ages between and beyond!

Have questions about what International Folk Dancing is all about, and what it "looks like"? See the "About FAC" / "About Folk Dancing" page at the nearby Folk Arts Center of New England for an in-depth explanation, pictures and videos. Likewise the FAQ page of a sister organization in California has lots of useful information.

We celebrate the dance traditions of many cultures, including (but certainly not limited to!) those of: Armenia, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Croatia, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Macedonia, Mexico, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Roma, Romania, Russia, Scotland, Serbia, Spain, Sweden, Tibet, Turkey, Ukraine, and the USA. Our teachers and members attend workshops throughout the region and beyond, notably the Pinewoods week and Oktoberfest weekend sponsored by the Folk Arts Center of New England.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, until further notice, we dance by Zoom on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month, plus other days (usually one of the other Wednesdays) occasionally. See our Regular Schedule and Special Events for further information.

For reference as to our activities during non-pandemic times: We dance most Wednesday evenings September through June at the Edwards Church Hall in Framingham, Massachusetts, plus several additional dances during the summer and on special occasions. However this normal schedule is NOT in effect until further notice.
