Styles in the "English (UEB) - UK formatting" Template (2017 Edition)
Note: This topic lists the DBT styles in the English (UEB) - UK formatting template, as of 2017. The template has been revised considerably since then, but this documentation has not. However, this is the best autopsy of a template we have. So study this for the richness of the documentation, not for the actual content.
The main body of this topic is presented as a single Styles table whose columns are the style name, the type (as below), the beginning codes for the style, and the ending codes.
DBT Style Name: The styles are listed alphabetically. For each style, you can click on the "More..." button for additional information. (You can also click on the Show All / Hide All button at the top of the table.)
Type: This field is a short letter code that indicates what sort of style this is.
Indicator | Meaning |
---|---|
(Blank) | This style applies to the entire document. |
C | This is a Character style. |
C/h | This character style is normally hidden. |
P | This style is applied to a paragraph, a.k.a., a "linear" style. |
P/h | This paragraph style is normally hidden. |
The paragraph/linear styles are also identifiable by the period (full stop) at the end of their names.
Beginning Codes and Ending Codes: Each individual code is a hyperlink to its entry in the "Codes Quick Reference", where you can find a detailed explanation of its use.
For VoiceOver Users: You may find the behavior of VoiceOver to be smoother if you use the Show All / Hide All button to reveal all of the "More button" information before scanning the table below. To do so, use the Rotor to find the Form Controls menu and select the Expand All button.
