Swahili

There is are two DBT templates for Swahili: Swahili (General) - Basic amd Swahili (Kenya) - Basic.
The translation for Kenya is more highly contracted, so DBT has a dedicated Swahili translation table for Kenya. More detail is available about both the general Swahili table and the Kenya Swahili table by following the appropriate link.
Contracted Braille
Swahili is usually produced in contracted braille. This means that words are not produced in braille on a one-for-one basis. There are abbreviations or contractions in the text. If you have questions about how braille is produced, please contact a member of the relevant braille authority.
