Unified English Braille (UEB) is designed to be a common English braille code, and has been adopted in many countries.
The latest country to agree to adopt UEB as the future standard is the United Kingdom. This was agreed by the United Kingdom Association for Accessible Formats (UKAAF) towards the end of 2010.
This will not happen immediately. The next two years will be a planning for implementation phase.
However, this version of DBT includes the latest agreed UEB Rules, and so you may if you wish try out Braille translation using UEB.
NOTE: The Braille Authority of the UK (BAUK) is now part of UKAAF.
